More Twitter Trash Talking brings about the return of Celebrity Boxing…

The other day instead of writing, I was trolling twitter. I follow Tori Spelling McDermott and saw she tweeted a comment about a tattoo her husband Dean got in a sensitive area to surprise her. Innocently (really) I clicked over to his feed to see if there was a photo. What I saw was a lot of twitter trash talk.

I know I don’t know these people in ‘real’ life but I did watch every episode of their reality show and I adore this couple and their children. I like them.

When Dean challenged one of the trash talkers, Regular guy sans the twitter tough guy trash talking, New York landscaper Tony Abracco to get into the ring with him I immediately thought of my friend, Damon Feldman the creator and owner of Celebrity Boxing. What could be better than a celebrity match featuring a good guy celebrity (okay in my eyes) verses an online bully, seeking his fifteen minutes of fame.

I added Damon and several of my favorite news and gossip people to the feed.

It looks like Celebrity Boxing is back, baby!!

I could not be more excited for Damon and the return of Celebrity Boxing, for Dean and heck even for Tony. This is going to be amazing to watch unfold.

The match will be Mixed Martial Arts, held in either Los Angeles  or Vegas in October and the trainers may possibly be Jose Canseco and Jeremy Jackson.

Oh my!!

More about Celebrity Boxing and its creator..

When a neck injury ended his 9-0 professional boxing career, Damon Feldman created Celebrity Boxing. What else was the sidelined champ, son of Hall of Fame boxer/trainer Marty Feldman with bucket loads of ambition supposed to do?

Okay, Celebrity Boxing has been around for more than a decade and has had its share of bouts 15 minutes of fame. Stories. There was Todd Bridges vs. Vanilla Ice, Paula Jones vs. Tanya Harding, Octo-Mom vs. Michelle(Bombshell) McGee and Danny Bonaduce vs. Barry Williams. Then Damon sued Octo-Mom for stealing a ring from him and won. He also sued Michael Lohan for not showing up to a fight and won.

Wanting to be closer to his aging father and young children Damon headed home to the east coast just south of Philadelphia.

In April of 2010, the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission charged Damon with six counts of staging events without a valid promoter’s license in Pennsylvania and six counts of ‘fixing’ fights.

Seriously, Pennsylvania Athletic Commission and Governor Corbett (who was the Pennsylvania Attorney General at the time) you didn’t realize Celebrity Boxing was entertainment?

Damon was devastated and fell into a deep depression. The scrapper never had it easy. His mother was a paraplegic and died shortly before his wedding and his father meant well but was always in the gym.

Rumor has it the state athletic Commissions executive director, Gregory Sirb was p.o.’d at Damon so he k.o.’d the license and prompted the charges. The rumor is Sirb (who actually fought in two Celebrity Boxing matches) wanted to fight Danny Bonaduce. When Feldman chose Justin Schemer to get in the ring with Bonaduce, Sirb was angry.

Doesn’t that just stink of this new culture of political thuggery?

Not wanting to leave Pennsylvania because his children are here, Damon and his father opened the Celebrity Boxing Gym in Havertown, Pennsylvania a small suburb just south of Philadelphia.

He waited, dreamed and planned his bigger than life comeback.

Finally, in the spring of 2013 Damon got his license back. His dreams and ambition are bigger than ever.

This Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Essington, Pa. just south of Philadelphia, the Champions of Tomorrow Event will feature Dante Selby Zeferino Albino Chris D. Steele Ty Crawley Tim Witherspoon Jr Isiah Seldon Joe Tiberi Jr. and many more! The Red Carpet is at 7:00 pm  and the first match is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Damon is also working towards a T.V. show. The premise of the reality show will feature Feldman putting the matches together, booking the celebrities, sponsors and venues all while battling the proverbial city hall and arranging publicity.

Our culture today is so quick to forgive and root for the redemption of the dark among us, the Tanya Harding’s and Danny Bonaduce’s.  Personally, I am hoping for more match ups featuring the real good vs. the real bad.  We need someone we can honestly cheer for, a good soul. Something like Tim Tebow verses Michael Vick, Lindsay Lohan verses Taylor Swift, Octomom verses Kate Gosselin…um maybe Kate verses John??

You may or may not like reality TV, boxing or fighters but how can you not root for this man. He has been knocked down over and over but they have yet to knock him out.

I will be watching and rooting for Damon.

Who would you like to see duke it out for charity?

Champions of Tomorrow is presented by : Concordville Nissan and Subaru, AG Cippolloni and Sons construction, Anthony’s in Drexel Hill, Bennys Barber shop in Springfield, Cheerleaders in Philadelphia
