Friday Fragments are a condensed version of the story of your week, the good, bad, exciting, boring and the ugly.

My week like all of my weeks lately has flown by and I am finding myself in frantic catch-up mode. I am hoping a trip to the beach is in my immediate future. I am in need…

  • Tuesday May 20th will be the 8th anniversary of the first time John and I met each other in real life after e-mailing and talking on the phone for six-weeks.
  • 24-gives me a stomach-ache and leaves me with so much anxiety that I cannot fall asleep- but I love it!
  • American Idol has been a bit of a strange season for me. I have not had a clear cut favorite but I do like the final two. I think Gena is more able to perform multiple genre’s well but her word pronunciation needs practice. Caleb is an amazing rock performer. I wish we saw a more diverse side of him. What I did love about the season was the chemistry between Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. I know many changes are coming to the show next season, I am hoping these three judges stay.
  • Nashville- I just love this show. I wish it was a cable show with fewer commercials. I am sad the season is over.
  • Mad Men- Oh my! This show just jogs childhood memories for me. My prediction: Megan is the one who will die out there in those California Hills…
  • Are you starting to think all I did was watch T.V. all week?
  • Do you have any idea how to get all of the birds (17 nests, seriously)to move out of these bushes so I can tear them down and replace them with something prettier? I have to walk through them to get to my car. I have been pooped on, dive bombed by mama birds, stuck in cob webs and I am allergic to evergreens. They have to go but darn I don’t want any birds to be harmed.

Bushes Ugly

  • I could not be happier that the media is shining a big fat flash light on the blatant mismanagement and lack of leadership and accountability at our VA Centers. You all know it is something so close to my heart and a major frustration of mine. The sad thing is the investigation will take forever and cost millions when those millions could be used to improve care and efficiency. All that needs to happen is for them to hire an experienced CEO from the private sector. Changes for the better would be immediate.
  • Last night I spent time with some girlfriends in-real-life. We had a great time preparing for this year’s Girlfriend Gala. My job was to wrap the raffle prizes. There were so many! If you are in the area and would like to attend this amazing event you can find more info here:

  • There is nothing like being in a room full of women that are ‘for you.’ The event is Wednesday. I cannot wait to share pictures with you next week.
  • What do you think of the firing/quitting of Jill Abramson (the first female Editor of the NY Times)? Do you believe there is a war on woman? How do you feel about the words bitchy and bossy? I am still trying to process how I feel about it all.
  • I hope it stops long enough for us to get a motorcycle ride in this weekend.
  • Last weekend we saw Heaven is for Real. My review of the book and movie are forthcoming.
  • Congratulations to Nita on winning a Fraggin Fantastic 300 posts prize and thank-you so very much for choosing the Bristol boyz Stomp basket as your prize. I will have it on the way to you this weekend.I am looking forward to catching up with all of you this weekend.

Have a Blessed Weekend,
